Vision of the mission
The most prominent among the Jyothirlingas and one of the 12 Shakti Peetams of this sacred land, Sri Mallikarjuna Temple of Sri Sailam, the abode of Lord Shiva situated on the flat top of Nallamala Forest with Patalaganga (Krishna river) flowing across the feet of this hill.
Constructed in the 7th century AD this hill temple hosted other asylums in which great philosophers and spiritual gurus like Sri Adhishankara, Sripadavallabha, Sanaari Vishweswara Swami, and Pothuluri Vira Brahmendra Swamy and the contemporary rulers and kings like Sri Krishna devaraya, Chatrapathi Shivaji, Chandra Gupta Vikramaditya visited this temple and worshipped Lord Shiva and made this temple along with its surroundings as a milestone and philosophical sojourn on the path of spiritual journey.
While the main temple is in limelight attracting thousands of pilgrims every year, the five matams are still left unnoticed and lay ruined till date.
We aspire to uphold the sanctity of these five ancient Mutts, lying in the surroundings of this temple, as places of spiritual and cultural heritage of India and hand over to the new generation as true religious treasures of the golden past. This little effort of us turns ‘historical’ if you too can join us by extending your hand of cooperation and financial assistance in accomplishing this Hercules task.
