Five ancient mutts of srisailam
Srisailam, the abode of Lord Shiva, renowned as one of the 12 Jyothirlinga Temples and a sacred land chosen by many sages from the nook and corner of our country from time immemorial as an ideal place to meditate in deep penance.
The ancient FIVE MUTTS located in the surrounding of this hill temple are identified by the archeological evidences as “meditation centres” for the last hundreds of years by many sages and hermits across the country, is at present laid in dust and ruined state.
With the noble intention of bringing back the ancient grandeur of these five Mutts, Sri Saila Veebhuti Lingeswara Trust, Vijayawada initiated it’s renovation project by procuring permission from Govt. of India vide G.O No.1287/17-12-2015. Sri. Kaja Lakshminarayana, C.A & Managing Trusty of SSVL Trust is entrusted with the task of upliftment and reconstruction of these five mutts and facilitate devotes with ideal accommodation with serene atmosphere suitable for meditation amidst the lush green meadows.
Prof. Satyamurthy, conservation expert of Reach Foundation, Chennai along with Krishna Architects has consented to extend his architectural expertise after thorough examination of the site of Mutts and submitted a comprehensive report (1/5/7/2/15726336) with the ways and means to renovate the existing monuments with care & concern.
Five Mutts which were once basked under glory of being prominent meditation centres centuries ago lay at present as ruined and destroyed monuments. To safe guard and glorify the rich traditional heritage of India and to bring back the grandeur of the past, it is the time for all of us to join hands in the Hercules task of “renovation of the grand ruins” SRI SAILA VEEBHUTI LINGESWARA TRUST invites every one us with open hands to strengthen them and be part of reconstruction and renovation of these ancient ruins which served earlier as dyana mandhiras (places of worship & meditation) to many aspirants and salvation seekers.
